Leave Foxes Confused And Disappointed With Predator Proof Rabbit Hutches And Runs

As a rabbit owner I am sure you fully know that a rabbit needs its exercise. There isn't much location in a rabbit cage for movement let alone exercise. Without exercise your rabbit is not being able its own strength and without exercise they are prone to become less and less able to ward of illnesses. These issues can be easily avoided if rabbits are able their exercise. Some rabbit owners choose to let their rabbits rush around in the house. At first this may seem like a good idea and on the surface a really nice one. This is not actually a practical idea when it comes down to it as it might be difficult to keep the rabbit out of hazardous things within your household, and your rabbit is not likely to get on very well with your other pets, if you have any. The most practical solution is to purchase a predator proof rabbit hutch with a run.

The run is intended for use outside, which is covered, in the sense that it has walls and a roof but does not have a floor. The floor is not missing, it is designed this way so that the rabbit can make the onset of the ground as the floor, the ground makes for an excellent surface for the rabbit to play, run and generally have fun on. Rabbit hutches and runs keep the rabbits in and can also keep the predators out!

The main predator is definitely the fox. As the owner of the rabbit it is your own responsibility to safeguard your rabbit against its predators. This can be achieved by purchasing predator proof rabbit hutches and runs which have been specially made with more heavy material and stronger mesh so that they may keep predators out and specifically stop foxes from gnawing on open holes and lifting the runs up to get to the rabbits.

Rabbit runs can often provide space for more than just the one rabbit. Rabbits are quite a sociable animal despite what I stated earlier about their interaction along with other species. Make sure to keep male and female rabbits separate to each other for the understandable reason!

Rabbit runs are often quite big, and intended for outside use, they are not intended to be shelter for the rabbits in the long term, this is because, whilst they may protect against predators, runs do not protect against the elements. It is really for these reasons that rabbit runs are intended for leisure time. For long term housing of your rabbits you will need to buy a hutch or cage.

Whilst it's correct that cages are the smallest, easiest option, they do have the obvious reason of having four open sides and this can cause your rabbit to feel the cold several the time. It's for this particular reason that cages are more suited to indoor use. Due to size, it would also be mentioned that cages are better if used for just one rabbit.

For anybody reading this article, it may be most suitable for you to buy a Hutch. A hutch has one/two open sides allowing for air circulation, thus it is ideal for outside use. Most of the ideal hutches feature an enclosed area so that your rabbit can retreat away when it wants to whether it is to keep away from the heat, the light, or just because they want to! If your rabbit ought to be outside for whatever reason, or may be a particularly large rabbit, or even if you have a few rabbits then, a hutch is certainly your best option.
